CONSULTATION + BRIEF
Key to the success of any project is having a clear understanding of our client’s requirements and aspirations. During the brief stage we take time to learn about your company; how it works and what it stands for, how it uses space and the workstations etc. We build a picture of your design project either through a site visit or looking at your floor plans and photographs, making sure we understand your timescale, budget and any structural or administrative requirements. We appraise any existing plans, discuss ideas, plan spaces and look at your options.
Next, we provide our understanding of the brief, a project plan and a fee proposal. The agreement outlines the scope of work for the design and the associated fees.
CONCEPT + DESIGN
Interpreting the detailed brief, we present the concept designs and drawings: floor plans, furniture layouts and any structural changes. All custom joinery is designed with plans, elevations and images of the details. We work with you to select the best designs and finishes.

DEVELOPMENT + DETAIL
Following concept approval, we progress to design development and details. This includes floor and wall coverings, lighting, soft furnishings, window treatments, furniture, ornaments, rugs, curated artwork and other interior accessories (we have access to a large range of trade only fabric and furniture suppliers). We also present final drawings for bespoke furniture, joinery and interior architecture and final finishes to be approved.
SELECTION + SPECS
All colours, finishes and materials have been discussed and
final selections are made. We send moodboards with samples
of all proposed finishes plus imagery of suggested concepts for furniture and joinery (3D rendered drawings can also be provided). We then get your feedback to ensure we are in total agreement, after which joinery and all other drawings are finalised together with a written specification for furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E).
CONSTRUCTION + INSTALL
The schedule of works are outlined and agreed, and once all onsite requirements are met, works commence. Jo Taylor Design attends regular site meetings to ensure progress and specifications go to plan, giving you regular updates until the completion of your design project.
