NORTHERN BEACHES

Jo Taylor brought her classic contemporary aesthetic to the ground floor refurbishment of this elegant townhouse. The luxurious but liveable space was designed by Alan Jack and Cottier Architects and included the expansion of the kitchen by removing a separate laundry and relocating appliances in the bespoke kitchen cabinetry. The space is made cohesive through the design and finishes resulting in a luxurious but comfortable home.

The new kitchen and total refresh of this beautiful beachside home pairs white walls and cabinetry with warm timber flooring and furniture. The versatile central island was made for dining at one end and for the owners to work on at the other and bespoke joinery and glass-fronted cabinets were made to showcase the many pieces they have collected.

CENTENNIAL PARK

Removing walls turned architecturally closed in rooms into a spacious and interesting combination of pavilions, which now allow views and light through the home. The banquette setting in the kitchen mirrors the bench seating in the dining area, with custom coloured cushions balancing both rooms and complementing the hand-knotted Tibetan rug. The luxurious kitchen completes these three elegant and highly functional areas.

DFAT

With a desire to create consulate offices more representative of Australia, the DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) commissioned Jo Taylor to design colour mood boards reflecting its native habitats: bush, reef, rainforest and outback. Its success led to the design of a typical consulate reception using these selections, all of which was made into a reference book for architects working on Australian consulates all over the world.

MOSMAN

Working with unusual bulkheads and supporting columns, we successfully designed a streamlined and modern kitchen for this client. We incorporated the columns by designing a coloured bulkhead with LED lights set behind it, adding function and a sense of purpose to the columns. The same colour and finish links the splashback and existing windows and a bulkhead is ‘camouflaged’ by the appliance cupboard.

Designed using a combination of shaker style cupboards, mesh door inserts and open shelves, the cabinetry is painted in a soft beige tone and complemented by stone floor tiles and stainless steel appliances and fittings. A spacious walk-in pantry is the finishing touch to this Hamptons style kitchen.
